Spring is upon us and as many of you know once the days start getting longer and the snow starts melting we Alaskans get motivated! Statistically more homes come on the market in the summer months. Kids are out of school and the daylight and warmer temps have sellers ready to list!
When should I list?
Anchorage inventory rose 53% between March and June in 2016. Our team recommends listing your home in the months of March and April. The goal is to stay ahead of the competition and avoid the increase of inventory that summer brings. Less competition means more available buyers to look at your home.
Why should I stage?
Sellers often struggle with this concept. During our consult we’ll give you suggestions on furniture placement, organization, suggestions for carpet/paint if necessary. Staging is a great way for buyers to visualize how a home will work for them. We recommend staging when a seller’s home has some unique or empty spaces that might present a challenge for buyers.

Beware of Rental Scams
Recently we’ve seen an increase with vacant homes being the victim of rental scams where people look for vacant homes on the market and try to solicit tenants. We have been fortunate to minimize these events as we add “This home is not for lease” in our postings on Craigslist, MLS, and our other marketing.
