Relocation to Anchorage

Approximately 50,000 students attend public schools in the Anchorage School District. Anchorage public schools lead the nation in diversity. 19 of the nation’s most diverse schools are in Anchorage. We have 99 languages other than English reported in the Anchorage School District.  ASD has many immersion programs throughout the city offering parents a multitude of choices for their child’s education. 

Private Schools include Pacific Northern Academy, Holy Rosary Academy,  Anchorage Montessori School, Grace Christian School, Lumen Christi High School, Seventh-day Adventist Junior Academy, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton School, andWaldorf School

Alaska Pacific University, is a private liberal arts university as are non-traditional institutions like Wayland Baptist University and Charter College

 

CITY AMENITIES

The Municipality of Anchorage is your go-to resource for citywide information. They oversee 10,946 acres of municipal parkland; 223 parks with 82 playgrounds, 250 miles of trails and greenbelts linking neighborhoods with wildlife habitat and open spaces. There is no need to leave town to enjoy the city! Indoor amenities are also a priority with over 100 athletic fields; 5 pools and 11 recreation facilities. The police department helps keep the city safe, secure and strong. Our People Mover Transportation system has an average weekday ridership of 14, 000. The The Chamber of Commerce operates as a business resource with nearly 1000 members.
